The Top 5 Attractions in Chicago: TripAdvisor

CHICAGO, IL - Chicago is one of the world’s best when it comes to tourism. Millions of dollars are pumped into the economy from travelers from all corners of the earth.

There’s no shortage of tourist spots to hit in town. Much of the lakefront areas near The Loop are filled with places tourists love.

There’s also no shortage of off-the-beaten path options, take a look at a few we like.

But here’s what fans of the city on leading travel website TripAdvisor have to say. The site ranks the best “things to do” by votes received from those who have visited Chicago, of which there are quite a few.

In all, the site ranked 612 attractions. Here are the top five.

1. Art Institute of Chicago - “This museum is a must! Chagall windows, gorgeous impressionist exhibit with Monet, Renior, Seurat, Gauguin. Modern American paintings with many from Georgia O'Keeffe. Degas, van Gogh.” - Brenda from South Carolina
2. Millennium Park - “We really didn't know what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised by the beauty and plethora of things to see and do. There are free movies on outdoor screens, the Bean was an amazing work of architecture that kept my 11 year old and 21 year old equally spellbound.” - Ethan from Ontario, Can.
3. Cloud Gate (The Bean) - “The bean is so unique. Its amazing the views of the city you get by looking in, and when we went at night it was spectacular too.” - Christopher
4. Wrigley Field - “The old park is just what I remember as a kid with the cozy confines of the stadium grew up with many years ago. Just being with the loyal cub fans from infant to walkers among us was so much fun.” - G.Y. from Oahu, Hawaii
5. Museum of Science and Industry - “I grew up in Chicago and now live in another state. Every few visits back, I enjoy going back to the Museum of Science and Industry. The fifth ranked thing to do was actually walking tours, but that doesn’t make this list because it isn’t a place.
