Traditional Swedish Holiday Events Return To Andersonville
Julmarknad Christmas Bazaar and St. Lucia Festival of Lights

Andersonville’s Swedish American Museum (5211 N. Clark St.) is pleased to welcome back two popular Swedish events for the 2021 holiday season: its Julmarknad holiday market and the St. Lucia Festival of Lights.
Julmarknad – December 4 – 5, 2021
Julmarknad is the Swedish American Museum's annual Christmas Bazaar, featuring traditional Scandinavian and modern handicrafts, along with entertainment for the entire family including games, a special visit from Santa and performances. Hours: Saturday, December 4 from 10 am – 5 pm; Sunday, December 5 from 10 am – 4 pm. The Kerstin Andersson Museum Store will hold a special preview sale on Friday, December 3 from 10 am – 8 pm featuring discounts on holiday gifts.

St. Lucia Festival of Lights – Monday, December 13, 2021
The Swedish American Museum celebrates St. Lucia Day on Monday, December 13, 2021 with a candle-lit procession at 5 pm from the Museum north down the sidewalks of Clark Street, highlighted by children singing “The Lucia Song,” donned in long white robes.
