Union Vote on Chicago Teachers Contract Delayed … And Not Because of the World Series
Officials are blaming printing issues for why members will have to wait until next week to say "yay" or "nay" to the tentative deal.

CHICAGO, IL — The members of the Chicago Teachers Union will have to wait a little bit longer to vote on the proposed four-year contract with the city, and it has nothing to do with the Cubs playing in the World Series, a reason that has been cited for a few governmental delays around the area.
Union officials told the Chicago Tribune that a "printing delay" is the cause for moving the contract vote. Printing shops were unable to create copies of the contract with updated language and distribute them to union members in time for a vote this week, the Tribune reports.
Originally, the group's more than 20,000 members were to vote on the proposed deal Oct. 27-28. Now, they will be casting their ballots Monday, Oct. 31, according to the Tribune.
