Tyson Mandates Vaccines For All Employees, Including IL Locations

CHICAGO — Tyson Foods is requiring all team members in the United States to be fully vaccinated, according to a memo from the president and CEO.
Tyson has several plants and offices in Illinois, including a plant in Joslin, Illinois, a corporate office for Tyson-owned Hillshire Brands in Chicago, a research and development center in Downers Grove, a distribution center in Ottawa and The Bruss Company in Chicago, which manufactures steaks and chops for restaurant chains throughout North America.
Tyson employees in leadership positions are required to be vaccinated by Sept. 24. In-office team members need to be vaccinated by Oct. 1, and all other employees by Nov. 1. This requirement may be different for union members, as the company says it is negotiating specifics.

All new hires must be fully vaccinated by their start date. Additionally, the company plans to give $200 to vaccinated employees, subject to union discussions.

"It is abundantly clear that getting vaccinated is the single most effective thing we can do to protect ourselves, our families and our communities," he said.
