Vios Fertility Institute Adds INVOCELL® as Fertility Treatment
Intravaginal Culture (IVC) System is Cost-Conscious Reproductive Health Option
Vios Fertility Institute announced today that it will now offer the INVOCELL Intravaginal Culture (IVC) System as part of its scope of reproductive health services throughout the Chicagoland area. The System, which is comprised of an INVOCELL Culture Device and Retention Device,1 is the only IVC system cleared by the Food and Drug Administration.
“We are pleased to add INVOCELL to our current reproductive health offering as an innovative option for patients struggling with infertility,” explains Angie Beltsos, Chief Medical Officer at Vios. “Statistics show that over 1.4 million women in the United States may benefit from advanced fertility treatment, yet only an estimated 130,000 of them begin such treatment.2 As a cost-conscious option, we believe that INVOCELL will help us improve access to care for those hoping to be parents.”
INVOCELL is a patented medical device used in the treatment of infertility that enables egg fertilization and early embryo development to take place in a woman's body. The eggs are retrieved from a woman’s ovaries and placed in the INVOCELL system with sperm. The device is then placed in the woman’s body to allow fertilization and incubation to occur, making the patient an even greater part of the process.

Dr. Amber Cooper and Dr. Shawn Zimmerman at Vios Fertility Institute-St. Louis were first introduced to INVOCELL in 2016 and were trained in how to use it in hopes of bringing this treatment option to their growing IVF clinic. They performed internal trials within a given patient’s cycle to ensure success while also refining the skills and timing needed for optimal outcomes. After the first few cases, Drs. Cooper and Zimmerman were asked to develop a training program for regional clinics and have become one of the official training sites still hosting quarterly training sessions.
Pricing for INVOCELL begins at $7200 which includes initial consultation, retrieval, monitoring, and fresh embryo transfer (freezing extra embryos, medications, ICSI or assisted hatching not included).
