Vios Fertility Welcomes New Physician to Team of Experts

Vios Fertility Institute -Chicago is pleased to welcome physician-scientist Erica D. Louden MD, PhD to their team of fertility experts. Fellowship-trained, Louden is a board eligible reproductive endocrinology & infertility specialist and Ph.D. trained cancer-cell biologist, whose expertise in both reproductive medicine and cancer research enables her to guide patients through the best treatment options.

Dr. Louden sees reproduction as one of life’s greatest miracles and its why she chose to work in a field where, with the assistance of modern medicine, she is making dreams come true.

After receiving her degree from Wayne State University of Medicine, Dr. Louden completed her residency at Wayne State/Hutzel Detroit Medical Center and fellowship at Augusta University at the Medical College of Georgia. A post-doctoral fellowship ignited her passion for REI when she assisted Dr. Kelle Moley (WUSTL) in evaluating poor pregnancy outcomes. Louden’s research efforts focus access to care for cancer and infertile patients as well as the novel mechanism to preserve primordial oocytes during chemo/radiation therapy. She will continue to further the field of REI through her many research contributions.

At SREI, Louden was selected as a recipient of the Oncofertility Award, under which she presented an honorable mention presentation. During her residency at Wayne State/Hutzel Detroit Medical Center, she won multiple awards, includingDMC/Wayne State Ob/Gyn Research Team Leader and presented Grand Rounds on Mullerian Anomalies, a topic on which she was published.

Additionally, Dr. Louden has authored articles for several medical journals & textbooks, led clinical studies, and has had her research covered in peer-reviewed publications.
