Weekend Weather in a Word: Beautiful

It’s going to be a beautiful Father’s Day weekend, weatherwise, with temps hovering in the 80s for much of the area and mostly sunny skies.

After the Chicago area got a break from the high temps on Thursday, high pressure moving into the region will provide sunny conditions on Friday while temperatures will warm into the 80s for inland areas and the 70s near the lake, according to the National Weather Service.

Those temperatures are only expected to climb over the weekend. A high of 80 degrees is in the forecast for Saturday and a high of 85 degrees is predicted for Sunday. Mostly-sunny skies over the Father’s Day weekend should make for perfect weather to get out and enjoy the many events and festivals happening throughout the area.

The start of next week’s work week will bring the chance of thunderstorms on both Monday and Tuesday. Temps will reach a high of 90 on Monday but will drop off on Tuesday with highs in the 70s.
