Wolves Fans Engaged At 1997 Game Will Renew Wedding Vows (VIDEO)
A hockey-loving Mundelein couple will renew their vows at Saturday's Chicago Wolves game, 21 years after the original proposal.
CHICAGO — A Mundelein couple will renew their wedding vows Saturday in the same spot they got engaged more than two decades ago; on the ice during a Chicago Wolves game at Allstate Arena. According to a release, Dean and Chris Tessitore got engaged at a Wolves game in 1997 when Dean surprised Chris with a proposal. The two were married in 1998.
The couple will renew their wedding vows at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, as the Wolves take on the Grand Rapids Griffins.
It's been 21 years since the surprising proposal, and to make the ceremony even more special, beloved local sports announcer, national anthem singer and licensed minister, Wayne Messmer, will be officiating, according to a release. The Chicago Wolves’ mascot, Skates, will also be on the ice, just like when he assisted in the proposal.
