Women’s March Chicago Plans Return To Grant Park
Dubbed 'March to the Polls 2018,' the march will be held in October, organizers said.

CHICAGO, IL — Hundreds of people are planning to gather in Grant Park in October for the second Women's March Chicago of the year. Dubbed March to the Polls 2018, the event is a follow-up to the march held in January. The event will be held on Oct. 13 as early voting gets underway in Illinois, and will focus on the elections, march organizer Jaquie Algee said.
“We know that hundreds of thousands of women and their allies are excited and energized to vote this fall, and the October march will enable us to come together and harness this energy and excitement and turn it into action,” Algee said in a statement.
The march will focus on new voters — particularly young women, immigrants and youth, organizers said. A coalition of youth organizers will help new voters connect with elected officials and join a parade to the early voting site, the group said.

“Women are organizing themselves and others to get to the polls, and October 13 is an activation point for that in Chicago. WMC plans for this event to be particularly special for those who are voting for the very first time, at a time when every vote is critical,” Algee said.
March to the Polls 2018 will include guest speakers, live musical performances and a new sponsor village in the rally area, where attendees will have access to participating candidates and sponsors in hosted booths, organizers said.
