'Wrigley' Makes a Fine Girl's Name If You Ask Parents of Chicago Area's 1st Baby of 2017
The die-hard Cubs fans named their daughter Wrigley Rose. She was born early Sunday in Elk Grove Village.

CHICAGO, IL — Odds are pretty good the newly born daughter of Ellen and Aaron Dalbey will be answering the same question from teachers and new acquaintances again and again for the rest of her life: "Are your parents Cubs fans?"
That's just one of the possible unintended consequences of being named Wrigley Rose. (answering the question, "How much do your parents like chewing gum?" is another.) She was born at 12:12 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, at at AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village and has earned the unofficial distinction of being the Chicago area's first baby born on New Year's Day 2017, according to the Chicago Tribune.
And yes, she is named after Wrigley Field as a way to honor the Chicago Cubs, who ended their 108-year championship drought after winning the World Series in November last year, the Tribune reports.

Even if it wasn't implied in her first name, Wrigley would have Cubs fandom in her blood. Ellen and Aaron Dalbey come from families who have been die-hard supporters of the North Siders, the report stated. Aaron has a Cubs tattoo, and he told the Tribune Wrigley's name was chosen before Chicago won the title.

The Dalbeys, who are Roselle residents, weren't the only New Year's Day parents to give their newborn daughter a name celebrating the Cubbies. Jennifer and Chuck Barham of Elgin named their girl Addyson Kelley Jeanne, the Tribune reports. She was born at 12:12 p.m. Sunday at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, the report added.
Addyson's name is not only a reference to Addison Street, one of the streets bordering Wrigley Field, but also to Cubs shortstop Addison Russell, the report stated.
"We can't wait to take Addyson to her first Cubs game," Chuck Barham told the Tribune.
