2 Charged In Armed Robbery At Subway In Lansing

Police have arrested two Chicago men in connection with the Monday night robbery at the Subway on Torrence Avenue.

LANSING, IL β€” Police in Lansing have arrested two men in connection with an armed robbery at the Subway restaurant on Torrence Avenue. Charged with armed robbery were Wanya Webb, 20 and Anthony Owens, 21 β€” both of Chicago.

Police responded to the restaurant at 17749 Torrence Ave. at 6:18 p.m. on Monday and heard that two men entered the store with handguns, took some money and fled on foot.

A Hammond, Indiana K9 officer responded and led police to the 2800 block of 179th Street, where police established a perimeter at a residence and negotiated the surrender of the two suspects.

There they said they found proceeds from the robbery, the guns the two men apparently used and the cash drawer from Subway.
