235 Graduate From Marian Catholic, Top 10 Students Named

This year's valedictorian at Marian Catholic will attend Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - More than 200 seniors at Marian Catholic High School walked across the stage at the school's commencement ceremony on May 21. The Spartans' Class of 2018 will be represented at 102 different schools in 23 states and Washington, D.C., where the valedictorian is headed for college.

Alexis Wade, of St. John, Indiana, is the 2018 valedictorian. She will attend the Catholic University of America.

Salutatorian Yue (Kevin) Yu, of Frankfort, will attend the University of Illinois.

Wade and Yu are included in the Class of 2018 Top 10 students along with Ugochinyere Ndukwe (Olympia Fields), Columbia University; Molly Roe (Lansing), Butler University; Quinn Kirchner (Park Forest), Northwestern University; Karla Casillas (Crete), University of Notre Dame; Pamela Maria Hamoay (Tinley Park), Loyola University-Chicago; Janina Laskowiecki (Chicago), University of Iowa; Alexis Flores (Hammond, Indiana), Case Western Reserve University and Julianna Cappas (St. John), DePaul University.

The Class of 2018 also totaled scholarship money coming in at about $21.5 million dollars, according to a news release from the school.
