Alicia's House Golf Outing to be held at Lincolnshire
Come on out to to golf and get an autograph from a Cubs legend, Milt Pappas & more at the annual event to raise funds for Alicia's House

When Alicia Diaz was killed in a tragic accident at the age of 4, grandparents Juan and Stella Hernandez wanted to keep her memory alive.

Hernandez, a former karate champion heard Milt Pappas, the legendary Cubs pitcher lived close by. “ We lived in the same village and never crossed paths,” said Hernandez. “ I decided to call Milt shortly after my granddaughter was killed. He heard what happened. We met and came up with the Celebrity Golf Outing,” added Hernandez. “ We have been best friends ever since.
Hernandez boasts one of the largest collections of memorabilia in the south suburbs.

“ I helped him get most of these autographs,” said Cubs legend Milt Pappas.
“ He knows George Bush senior, Hank Aaron and more,” said Hernandez. “ I shake my head as I think about these people that now know about a little food pantry in South Chicago Heights”.
Most of that collection will be up for auction at the 13th Annual Celebrity Golf Outing, Dinner and Silent Auction. Some of the items this year are signed Elvis Presley items, Hank Aaron, Dick Butkus, Chicago sports team members autographs and much more.
“ Where else can you golf, bid on great memorabilia and meet a Cubs legend, Milt Pappas,” said Hernandez.
Golf and dinner is $125 dollars, $500 dollars for a foursome and dinner only is $45 dollars. The annual Celebrity Golf Outing, Dinner and Silent Auction will take place this Saturday September 12. The outing will take place at the Lincolnshire Country Club located at 390 E. Richton Road in Crete. Golf registration at noon while the Country Club opens to the public for a Meet & Greet with the celebrities and silent auction.
All proceeds benefit Alicia’s House Food Pantry in South Chicago Heights.
The goal of Alicia’s House is to try and alleviate hunger and some of the problems associated with hunger. Alicia’s House provides food, at no cost, to low income residents of Crete, Beecher, Steger, Monee, University Park, and South Chicago Heights.
