Police said the search warrant was the result of a months-long investigation into suspected drug manufacturing and distribution.

During the search of the residence, detectives recovered approximately 45 grams of suspected cocaine, multiple digital scales and other packaging materials, more than $85,000 in United States currency, and eight firearms, including two rifles and a stolen handgun.

Several individuals were taken into custody during the execution of the search warrant.

Following an investigation, a 46-year-old Park Forest man was charged with felony manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance, eight counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of cocaine. Police did not release his name.

"The Park Forest Police Department is committed to investigating illegal drug activity and the individuals involved in the manufacture and distribution of controlled substances." police said.

"This investigation demonstrates the department's ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt criminal activity that poses a threat to the safety of the community."
