Aperion Care Chicago Heights: We Pay Honor to Annie Borum

Aperion Care Chicago Heights employees honor Annie Borum, a valued co-worker they lost too soon.

Some people leave an impression on your heart; others become a permanent part of it. Annie Borum is forever in our hearts. Annie was a fixture at Aperion Care Chicago Heights. She started February 13, 1995 as a certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and was one of the facility’s original staff members. Serving in multiple departments made Annie a valuable part of the facility’s team. She was not only good at her job, she was an expert on the residents and facility. In her recent position, she was a medical records designee working closely with residents and their physicians.

Born, August 31, 1948, and married in December 1966, she had an energy and vitality that outpaced that of those half her age. And, she possessed a joyful young sprit that she freely shared with those around her. In fact, she was always running up and down the halls to perform her duties, never sitting still, always lending a helping hand.

It’s wonderful in life to have people you can count on – whether that’s a partner, spouse, parent, friend or coworker. We all knew we could count on Annie. As did our physicians and providers. As they made their rounds providing resident care, they relied on her to intimately know the residents so well that she could alert them to all the pertinent details in order to provide the best care. To Annie, the quality of life for each and every resident was paramount. She made sure they had their daily needs covered, as well as the little extras that made them happy. For example, if a resident had a pair of glasses that broke, Annie would run out and get them fixed because she knew it made them feel special to know how much she cared about them. Resident care was her top priority.
