Bloom 206 and State of Illinois Lead Symposium on School Improvement
Illinois Center for School Improvement partnered with Bloom 206 to lead Symposium
The Illinois Center for School Improvement partnered with Bloom Township High School District 206 to share the district’s improvement processes with several other Chicagoland school districts.
On Tuesday, May 2, Bloom 206 and the Illinois Center for School Improvement (Illinois CSI) held a six-hour symposium with three repeating break-out sessions and a panel discussion. All 67 South Cook County school districts were invited to attend the event, which was held at the Tinley Park Convention Center.
“We are humbled to be recognized for our efforts and were happy to share our strategies,” Bloom 206 Superintendent Lenell Q. Navarre said. “The education and well-being of our children is the top priority. Every decision we’ve made has put those priorities at the forefront. We’re eager to continue the dialogue and further engage our fellow hard-working educators.”

Bloom District 206 has implemented a great number of structures and practices considered most effective on the national educational landscape for increasing student achievement. The district has raised the graduation rate significantly across the district, graduating more students in 2016 than in the 15 previous years, all the more impressive with more students taking Advanced Placement classes than ever before.
Several Bloom 206 faculty members were present, representing the diverse array of work done in both Bloom and Bloom Trail high schools. The District also showed a short video highlighting the talented staff.
