Bloom High School Hosts First Community Fair

Students learn about volunteering during Bloom Cares at Bloom High School.

About four hundred freshman students took part in the first Bloom High School community fair. The fair, named Bloom Cares hosted a variety of local non-profits. With Bloom students volunteering for community service hours, many non-profit agencies gave the students information and welcomed them to sign up for volunteer hours.

“Bloom Cares was a wonderful event that allowed community representatives to inform the students of resources available in the communities.” said Dr. Lenell Navarre, Superintendent of District 206.

Chicago Heights Drama Group was one of the popular tables represented at Bloom Cares. The local drama group set up a small city scene where Bloom High school freshman took photos.
