Bloom NJROTC Serves Cops on Rooftop
The students supported local law enforcement's fundraising effort by bringing snacks and donations.
Bloom High School NJROTC Cadets Crystal Rendon, Alan Boyo, Londynn Johnson and Tyler Martin greeted local law enforcement officials early Friday morning at a Chicago Heights Dunkin Donuts.
Cadets gave the officers snacks and donations to support the Special Olympics Torch Run. Each year the 'Cop on a Rooftop' event is supported by the NJROTC Unit, and the Cadets enjoy showing their appreciation, according to Lieutenant Stacy Henderson-Shaw, their instructor at Bloom.
In addition to the local police taking part in the Cop on a Rooftop event, Bloom Cadets also surprised the security officers at Bloom with goody bags full of snacks. The Naval Science three and four Cadets also purchased doughnuts to reward the Cadets completing NJROTC Orientation.
