Bloom Student Awarded for Commitment to Service

Monserrat Lara earned the Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart Commitment to Service Award.

Bloom High School student Monserrat Lara was recently awarded the Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart Commitment to Service Award.

Montserrat has been an upstanding member of Bloom's NHS. She started in the school's bilingual program as a freshman and has since ascended into several Advanced Placement and honors level courses.

Applicants had to have a minimum of 100 community service hours in one year, write an essay, and be chosen by a panel of judges.
