Bloom Student Earns Trip to London with MiGlow Award
Ayala Bolds will also attend professional development workshops that provide world-class training in cross-cultural exploration.

Bloom High School student Ayala Bolds was recently honored with MiGlow Award and a trip to London.
Bolds and fellow Bloom student Nyanna Harris were among the 42 finalists for the MiGlow Award which recognizes teen girls in the Chicagoland area that excel academically, exemplify extraordinary leadership skills, and show impressive involvement within their communities.
Recipients of the MiGlow Award receive an all-expense paid educational trip to London, England as well as opportunities to take part in local and international community service event and professional development workshops that provide world-class training in cross-cultural exploration.

“The Bloom 206 community is incredibly proud to see Ayala and Nyanna recognized for their achievements and continued efforts as students and aspiring leaders,” said District 206 Superintendent Lenell Navarre. “I with Ayala a fun and enlightening trip to the other side of the world, where she can continue her educational journey.”
Winners were selected through a multiplex submission process that involved a social media contest driven by the public’s vote and a group interview that tested the candidates’ leadership and problem solving skills.

Award winners were announced in December at the 2018 MiGlow Awards Gala. The annual charitable event was sponsored by MIELLE, with iGlow Mentoring spotlighting 21 meritorious award winners. iGlow Mentoring is a Chicago-based, non-profit organization serving teen girls and MIELLE, a global hair care and beauty brand focusing on healthy hair.
