Bloom Trail Seniors Visit Southern Illinois University
The class of 2022 is visioning out their post-high school plans.
Since school reopened in August, the Bloom Trail Class of 2022 has lost no time in planning for their life after high school.
Trail seniors are showing everyone that they are ready to lead the way and serve as role models for the other students in the school. At the end of the first quarter, the seniors had the best grades of all the classes, earning more A's than any other class, and had the highest attendance rate. Principal Glynis Keene is impressed by their efforts.
“The upperclassmen have experienced high school pre-COVID," Keene said. "They understand what they have lost during the pandemic and aren’t going to waste this last year. I am really proud of the way they are forging ahead and focusing on their future.”

One opportunity the Class of 2022 wasn’t going to pass up came their way at the end of October. Twelve seniors traveled to Southern Illinois University- Carbondale (SIUC) for an overnight visit. Students got to meet students from several other high schools and get a taste of what life on a college campus is like. Students and faculty from SIUC led campus tours, discussed university programs and resources, introduced students to Greek life, and provided opportunities for our students to enjoy the atmosphere.
The college admissions process is well underway, and the acceptance letters are already rolling in. Representatives from many colleges and universities have visited Bloom Trail, talking to students in the Counseling Office and during lunch periods.

Recruiters from several Illinois universities have hosted automatic admissions days at Bloom Trail. Dozens of students already have earned admission and scholarship offers to SIUC, Western Illinois University, and Eastern Illinois University. It’s only November, so we know this is just the start for the Class of 2022. Keep watching- there’s no telling what else is in store for these students between now and graduation day.
