Chicago Heights Man Convicted In Murder Of Lynwood Man

LAKE COUNTY, IND. — An Indiana judge on Wednesday found a 26-year-old Chicago Heights man guilty of the murder of an 18-year-old Lynwood man.
Jason D. Hinton, of Chicago Heights, was convicted of murder and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury at the conclusion of a two-day bench trial in Lake Superor Court in Crown Point, Chicago Tribune reports.
Hinton was responsible for the death of Jacquice Baylock, 18, of Lynwood. Baylock was shot and killed July 1,2021. Prosecutors also added a firearms enhancement, according to the report, which could lead to an additional 5–20 years in prison.

Hinton was one of 5 linked to the death, including another Chicago Heights man.
Hinton's sentencing hearing is set for Sept. 23.
