CHSD 170’s Wilson School Students/Staff Mark 'Back to School'

On Friday, August 25, 2023, CHSD170’s Wilson School students and staff came together to celebrate a “Back to School” Pep Rally/Assembly.

All the participants were incredibly excited to join the assembly outlining the expectations of Wilson’s scholars and promoting the school’s “No Excuses, Everybody In” theme.

“The pep rally was a great way to start the school year!” explained Wilson Principal Keyara Bishop. “Our staff donned t-shirts displaying our school theme and helped to pump up our students.”

“The students were excited about the learning to come and the fun they had as they voiced their growth mindset. I am looking forward to our students having an amazing school year of academic and personal growth and our staff having a great year filled with professional growth.”

Each class brought a flag, poster, or banner to the assembly describing their ideas as to what the “No Excuses” theme meant to the school community. The rally closed with everyone joining together to dance and sing the Wilson theme song, “Shine Bright” by Super Siah.

“It was wonderful seeing the children’s enthusiasm at the assembly,” said third-grade teacher Natalie Lewis. “The students’ smiles lit up the room as they happily sang, danced, and celebrated our school’s theme and song.”

Instructional Coach Karlin Ritter added to the positive remarks about the assembly, saying, “Coming together as a Wilson Warrior Family during the first week of school was amazing!”

“Every member of our school family showed their Warrior pride, and each class truly thought about our school’s theme and what it means to them. I am incredibly proud to be a Wilson Warrior!”

El viernes 25 de agosto de 2023, los estudiantes y el personal de la Escuela Wilson de CHSD170 se reunieron para celebrar una Asamblea/Reunión de Pep de “Regreso a la Escuela”.

Todos los participantes estaban increíblemente emocionados de unirse a la asamblea que describía las expectativas de los estudiantes de Wilson y promovía el tema de la escuela "Sin excusas, todos entran".

“¡La reunión de motivación fue una excelente manera de comenzar el año escolar!” explicó la directora de Wilson, Keyara Bishop. "Nuestro personal se puso camisetas que mostraban el tema de nuestra escuela y ayudaron a animar a nuestros estudiantes".

“Los estudiantes estaban entusiasmados con el aprendizaje que vendrían y la diversión que tenían mientras expresaban su mentalidad de crecimiento. Espero que nuestros estudiantes tengan un año escolar increíble de crecimiento académico y personal y que nuestro personal tenga un gran año lleno de crecimiento profesional”.

Cada clase llevó a la asamblea una bandera, un cartel o una pancarta que describía sus ideas sobre lo que significaba el tema “Sin excusas” para la comunidad escolar. La manifestación cerró con todos uniéndose para bailar y cantar el tema principal de Wilson, “Shine Bright” de Super Siah.

“Fue maravilloso ver el entusiasmo de los niños en la asamblea”, dijo Natalie Lewis, maestra de tercer grado. “Las sonrisas de los estudiantes iluminaron la sala mientras cantaban, bailaban y celebraban alegremente el tema y la canción de nuestra escuela”.

La entrenadora de instrucción Karlin Ritter se sumó a los comentarios positivos sobre la asamblea y dijo: “¡Reunirnos como una familia Wilson Warrior durante la primera semana de clases fue increíble!”

“Cada miembro de nuestra familia escolar mostró su orgullo guerrero y cada clase realmente pensó en el tema de nuestra escuela y lo que significa para ellos. ¡Estoy increíblemente orgulloso de ser un Wilson Warrior!"
