CHSD170 Closes Schools / CHSD170 cierra escuelas

Chicago Heights School District 170 has announced that all of its schools will close at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, March 16.
The closings are the result of the ongoing emergency situation concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) and adhering to Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker's mandate.
Schools will be closed from Tuesday, March 17, through Friday, April 3, 2020. Students will return to school on Monday, April 6.
The closings also have affected the dates of the school district's original Spring Break (April 10-19), which now will run from March 30-April 3, 2020.
While the district has no confirmed cases of coronavirus, this decision is a precautionary measure to limit the spread of the COVID-19 illness in our community.
The district will implement E-Learning protocols to facilitate student learning during the school closings. E-Learning protocols provide instruction due to the school closings because of conditions beyond the district's control that pose a severe threat to the health and safety of students.
