CHSD170 Played Host to the SSJHA Fine Arts Festival ‘23

CHSD170 acoge el Festival de Bellas Artes SSJHA '23

Chicago Heights School District 170 hosted the South Suburban Junior High School Association's "Fine Arts Festival 2023" on Wednesday, April 26th, at the Chicago Heights Middle School.

The festival marked the 14th year the district hosted the event consisting of choral performances and a visual arts exhibition for fifth- through eighth-grade students from 10 south suburban school districts, including fifth-graders from 170.

The festival exhibited approximately 150 pieces of student artwork in the CHSD170 Middle School Gymnasium. At four p.m., musical presentations were showcased in the school's cafetorium.

The SSJHSA Fine Arts Festival is an event designed to enrich the educational and artistic experience of junior high school students in a collegial environment. At the festival, students have their work and performances judged by experts in their respective areas.

"On behalf of School District 170 and all of the staff and volunteers who have worked so hard to ensure the event's success, I was thrilled to welcome all of the students who participated in the SSJHSA Fine Arts Festival," said Superintendent Tom Amadio.

"In providing a showcase for their artistic talent, the students will be afforded an exciting educational and social dynamic in which their work is appreciated and admired by all."

El Distrito Escolar 170 de Chicago Heights acogió el "Festival de Bellas Artes 2023" de la Asociación de Escuelas Secundarias del Sur Suburbano el miércoles 26 de abril en la Escuela Intermedia Chicago Heights.

El festival marcó el decimocuarto año en que el distrito organizó el evento que consistió en presentaciones corales y una exhibición de artes visuales para estudiantes de quinto a octavo grado de 10 distritos escolares suburbanos del sur, incluidos estudiantes de quinto grado de 170.

El festival exhibió aproximadamente 150 obras de arte de estudiantes en el gimnasio de la escuela intermedia CHSD170. A las cuatro de la tarde, se exhibieron presentaciones musicales en el comedor de la escuela.
