CHSD170’s CHMS Students Perform at the ILMEA Festival
Los estudiantes de CHMS de CHSD170 se presentan en el Festival ILMEA
Three student performers from CHSD170's CHMS recently attended the District ILMEA (Illinois Music Educators Association) Festival held at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
The students attending were Sirr McCoy (8th-grade Choir), Ivan Chavez (8th-grade band), and Yadah Picket (7th-grad Choir).
The festival presented the finest auditioned groups of the top musicians and choral performers in the southwest Chicagoland area.

"Being elected to perform at the event was a great honor for the students and our school," said CHSD170 Band and Choir Director Sabrina Steck.
The Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) is a not-for-profit professional association representing every level of music education in every discipline. The history of ILMEA may be traced back to 1939 when the association began. The earliest extant membership roster lists 639 names, compared to the 5000+ members today.

Tres estudiantes artistas de CHSD170's CHMS asistieron recientemente al Festival del Distrito ILMEA (Asociación de Educadores de Música de Illinois) que se llevó a cabo en Lincoln-Way Central High School.
Los estudiantes que asistieron fueron Sirr McCoy (Coro de 8º grado), Ivan Chavez (banda de 8º grado) y Yadah Picket (Coro de 7º grado).
El festival presentó los mejores grupos audicionados de los mejores músicos e intérpretes corales en el área suroeste de Chicagoland.
"Ser elegido para actuar en el evento fue un gran honor para los estudiantes y nuestra escuela", dijo la directora de la banda y el coro de CHSD170, Sabrina Steck.
