​CHSD170’s EC Program Activities Celebrated the Recent Holiday Season

The Chicago Heights School District 170 Early Childhood (EC) Program at Highland School celebrated the past the holiday season with a remarkable and heartwarming event known as Family Share Day.

This event allowed families to come together and engage in various activities to strengthen familial bonds and nurture positive relationships. The event occurred on November 21st at Glenwoodie Golf Club, with over 50 families attending.

On December 7th, the EC program hosted a Parents-Night-Out event, providing a valuable opportunity for parents to take some time off during the holiday season. The program organizers invited parents, encouraging them to share their family holiday traditions and experiences with other community members. This event aimed to create an inclusive environment where parents could connect and learn from each other’s diverse backgrounds. By offering this platform for dialogue and interaction, the EC program fostered a sense of unity among families and promoted cultural awareness within the community.

On December 19th, the EC program demonstrated its dedication by partnering with generous donors to present its annual Secret Santa Give-A-Way. This heartwarming event exemplifies the program’s mission of spreading joy and cheer during the holiday season. Through careful coordination with community members and local businesses, the EC program secured gifts tailored to each child’s interests and needs.

The EC Program concluded its successful season by organizing a compelling Parent-Child Literacy activity at the Marcus Theater. The program carefully selected a captivating movie that entertained individuals while triggering discussions about its underlying themes and moral lessons.

El Programa de Primera Infancia (EC) del Distrito Escolar 170 de Chicago Heights en la Escuela Highland inició la temporada navideña con un evento notable y conmovedor conocido como Día de la Compartir en Familia.

Este evento permitió a las familias reunirse y participar en diversas actividades para fortalecer los vínculos familiares y fomentar relaciones positivas. El evento tuvo lugar el 21 de noviembre en Glenwoodie Golf Club, y asistieron más de 50 families.
