From that point, students and their families visited their classrooms and met their teachers. Tables were set up in the hall, where students could register for activities at the Jones Community Center, receive free books to stimulate enthusiasm for reading, and obtain various school supplies. All attendees also received a ticket to enjoy a treat at the ice cream truck on the school’s playground.

Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Alise D. Barrymore and Associate Pastor Issac Hayes of the Emmaus Community, Olympia Fields, IL, volunteered at the event and distributed school supplies donated by the church. Their contribution, along with the hard work of the school staff, made the event a resounding success.
