CHSD170's Greenbriar School Hosts Family Math Night

As part of an ongoing attempt to engage students and their families in the education process, Chicago Heights School District 170's Greenbriar School recently held a "Family Math Night."

Approximately 200 students, their parents, family members, and friends met in the school's gymnasium to enjoy the event.

The evening provided students with new and novel ways to enjoy math and to assist parents and friends in learning ways of incorporating math practices into life away from school.

As part of the event. Families and guests took part in several Math-themed activities.

During the evening, students received a book to reward their presence.

Greenbriar School Principal Joe Taylor noted that the event, like most of the school's community involvement efforts, was well received by all the attendees.

"I always am gratified at the enthusiasm generated by the various school functions designed to enhance the education process while engaging parents and families as a part of that progress," Taylor said.

Taylor also praised the efforts of the school's staff in creating the successful event.

"Much of the credit for the success of Family Math Night goes to our wonderful staff who worked hard to offer our learning community an educational, engaging, and enjoyable evening for our students and their families," he said.

Como parte de un intento continuo de involucrar a los estudiantes y sus familias en el proceso educativo, la Escuela Greenbriar del Distrito Escolar 170 de Chicago Heights celebró recientemente una "Noche Familiar de Matemáticas".

Aproximadamente 200 estudiantes, sus padres, familiares y amigos se reunieron en el gimnasio de la escuela para disfrutar del evento.

El director de la escuela Greenbriar, Joe Taylor, señaló que el evento, como la mayoría de los esfuerzos de participación comunitaria de la escuela, fue bien recibido por todos los asistentes.
