CHSD170's Lincoln-Gavin School Presents Its Holiday Program

The kindergarten through fifth-grade students of CHSD170's Lincoln-Gavin School presented a holiday program on Thursday, December 15th.

Nearly 100 parents, family members, and friends attended the performance that marked the renewal of the holiday event after an absence of several years.

"I was so proud of our students as they looked amazing and performed beautifully," said Lincoln- Gavin Principal Safiyah Malvin.

"I couldn't be prouder of the educators, students, and parents for making the holiday program a wonderful success."

During the program, students in grades K – 5 sang a total of eight songs, while students in grades three and four regaled the audience with a spirited reading of "The Night Before Christmas."

Malvin explained that the program was essential in her plan to present a series of events and programs that parents and families could attend.

"I wanted to have them visit our building to see how our amazing teachers and staff are diligently working with our students to bring out the best they can be," she said.

Lincoln-Gavin Music teacher Kristin Schmal was incredibly proud of her students' commitment to ensuring the program's success.

"The students had been practicing for this program since October, and I was blown away by their singing. They performed some difficult songs, and their projection and harmony were first-rate," Schmal said.

In addition to acknowledging Schmal, Principal Malvin also thanked school administrative assistant Djuana Willingham for her invaluable input, the classroom teachers and assistants who helped students prepare for the program, and staff members who helped to decorate and turn the school into a winter wonderland.

Los estudiantes de jardín de infantes a quinto grado de la escuela Lincoln-Gavin de CHSD170 presentaron un programa de vacaciones el jueves 15 de diciembre.

Casi 100 padres, familiares y amigos asistieron a la actuación que marcó la renovación del evento festivo después de una ausencia de varios años.

"Estaba tan orgullosa de nuestros estudiantes porque se veían increíbles y se desempeñaban maravillosamente", dijo la directora de Lincoln Gavin, Safiyah Malvin.

"No podría estar más orgulloso de los educadores, estudiantes y padres por hacer que el programa de vacaciones fuera un éxito".

Malvin explicó que el programa era fundamental en su plan de presentar una serie de eventos y programas a los que pudieran asistir padres y familias.

"Quería que visitaran nuestro edificio para ver cómo nuestros increíbles maestros y personal están trabajando diligentemente con sus estudiantes para sacar lo mejor que pueden ser", dijo.

La maestra de música de Lincoln-Gavin, Kristin Schmal, estaba increíblemente orgullosa del compromiso de sus alumnos para garantizar el éxito del programa.

"Los estudiantes habían estado practicando para este programa desde octubre y me quedé impresionada con su canto. Interpretaron algunas canciones difíciles y su proyección y armonía fueron de primera", dijo Schmal.
