Fast Facts: Two teams with state tournament aspirations get a tune-up before the beginning of the postseason next week. Marian won the Class 4A state championship in 2013 and finished third last year in Dan Murray’s first season as the coach. The Spartans have won 12 straight games since losing to Trinity in the semifinals of the Montini Tournament. Three Division I recruits lead the way. Page is headed to Penn State, leading the team with 18.1 points per game, 79 assists and 49 steals. Bradley stars as the defensive stalwart in the paint. Headed to Pittsburgh next year, she has racked up 130 rebounds, 64 steals and 29 blocked shots. Matthews (8 PPG) is headed to Stony Brook. Cooper has had a solid season, averaging 10.8 points per game with 139 rebounds and 46 steals. Trinity is having another solid season, despite featuring two freshmen in the starting lineup. Four of the 10 spots on Trinity’s roster are filled by freshmen. Aylward, who averages 14 points and eight rebounds per game, was the CSN Athlete of the Week in late January. Stritzel, daughter of head coach Ed, provides senior leadership. McKenna, who averages 15 points, four assists and two rebounds per game, joins Aylward as juniors on college coaches’ radars. Fallon averages eight points, six rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game as a freshman.
