The Crete Public Library recently added a new service to its lengthy line-up of free offerings. Beginning in February patrons may reserve the equipment needed to transfer material from VHS tapes to DVDs. Appointments are necessary as the equipment must be used in one of the library’s meeting rooms. A librarian will assist patrons with the set-up and answer questions as needed. The equipment may only be used to transfer personal VHS recordings to DVD.
Blank DVDs will be available for purchase at the library or patrons may bring their own. Rewritable DVDs may be purchased for $1 each, and recordable DVDs will be available for $0.50 each. Both types of DVDs will hold approximately four hours of video.
For more information or to reserve the equipment, call the library at 708-672-8017.
