Cops, Firefighters Square Off On The Court To Help Humane Society

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — Members of the Chicago Heights Police Department and Chicago Heights Fire Department took to the basketball court for a friendly competition that ended up helping raise money for both the South Suburban Humane Society and Bloom Township High School. The police department won a "nail biter," 35-33.

Adults paid $5 and children were $2 for entry to the charity game, the second annual of its kind, held at Bloom on Sunday. A 50/50 raffle was also held to raise additional money.

"We thank everyone who came out and supported this great event," Chicago Heights police wrote in a statement on Facebook.
