DeLuca Hosts Free Veterans’ Appreciation Picnic
State Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Chicago Heights, recently hosted a free Veteran's picnic.
To honor those who have served in our nation’s armed forces, State Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Chicago Heights, recently hosted a free Veteran’s Appreciation Picnic on Friday, July 6th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 19101 Halsted St. in Glenwood.
Over 80 Veterans and their family members attended for conversation, food, and BINGO. Representative DeLuca was joined by elected officials from surrounding communities. The Chicago Heights Veterans Center was present to answer any questions and assist veterans.
“Veterans made sacrifices for our safety and freedom that we must not take for granted,” DeLuca said. “They deserve our thanks every day, not just on special holidays and this picnic is sign of our community’s gratitude for their service.”

“I would like to thank my volunteer Senior Advisory Committee for all of their hard work, dedication, planning and execution of this successful event.” DeLuca said.” “I would also like to thank Bloom Township, Rich Township, Frankfort Township, Village of Glenwood John H. Blakey Senior Center for their partnership in honoring our veterans on this special day.”
“I enjoyed visiting with veterans and their families from across the district,” DeLuca said.
