The Drama Group of Chicago Heights Makes Donations to the CHMS

For several weeks past, The Drama Group of Chicago Heights, celebrating its 91st season in existence, presented performances of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE.

During those performances, The Drama Group asked its audiences to bring donations of school supplies and art supplies to benefit students attending local schools. Due to the generosity of its patrons, The Drama Group gathered several big boxes of school and art supplies to deliver to the Chicago Heights Middle School.

"It has been The Drama Group's privilege for the past 45 years to coordinate outreach programs within our communities," said Tina Zagone, The Drama Group's Director of Marketing and Publicity.

"We are thrilled that our active members picked the Chicago Heights Middle School to receive the benefits of our endeavor this year."

Zagone emphasized the group's commitment to supporting local schools and students. She offered the opportunity for CHSD170's theatre and art students to tour the Drama Group Studio building and attend a rehearsal for the upcoming presentation of the musical play THE CHRISTMAS SCHOONER.

"On behalf of our school and its students, I heartily thank The Drama Group for this superb act of altruism and extend sincere appreciation to the group's patrons that made this wonderful and much-needed donation possible," said CHMS Assistant Principal Tricia Wells.
