This week Chicago Heights had quite an intriguing kick-off for early voting, with floating through the air.

Patch photojournalist Mary Compton snapped photos at the City Hall, where early voting is taking place 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday for the rest of the month.

While the rest of the week has been relatively incident-free, Mary still captured the moments as people lined up to do their civic duty.
