Bloom Township dropped a 28-14 decision to Thornwood on Saturday afternoon as the two teams met in the season-opener on a beautiful day, for a T-Bird.

So, it was a great day for football on Saturday if you were a Thornwood T-Bird.

Thornwood jumped to a 21-0 lead and held on to defeat Bloom Township 28-14 in the season-opener borth teams.

Bloom quarterback LaVante Blackful threw one touchdown pass but was pressured by Thornwood's defense much of the afternoon.
