Girl Hit By Stray Bullet While Planning Her 11th Birthday Party
The girl was shot in the head while inside her home in Harvey Monday night, a report states.
HARVEY, IL — A girl who turns 11 years old today was shot last night while planning her birthday party inside a home in Harvey. The girl is in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn after she was shot in the head by a stray bullet that flew into her home at 158th and Paulina around 9 p.m. Monday, according to a WGN-TV report.
The young girl was sitting at a computer choosing T-shirt designs for the party when she was hit by the bullet, the report states. Chicago community activist Andrew Holmes is among those calling for the capture of the shooter.
"Look at doorbell cameras and see if you have images of these perpetrators," he said.
