Gonzalez Cites “Commitment” of Newly Promoted Chicago Heights Fire Fighters
City Hall swearing-in ceremony held to recognize new officers.

(Chicago Heights, IL) – Newly promoted City of Chicago Heights Fire Department officers drew praise from Mayor David Gonzalez for their “commitment to help others” at a City Hall swearing-in ceremony before the start of summer.
At the City Council’s May 1 board meeting, City Clerk Lori Wilcox swore in four new Fire Department engineers – Keith Warren, Steve Koenig, Mike Janusek, and Lou Wortel – and four new lieutenants – Michael Napoli, Doug Fisher, Wendell Thomas, and Zach McGathey.
"Think back to the one moment that made you say, ’I’m going to be a firefighter.’ That moment is something unique to each one of you and made you choose a career in fire service,” said Gonzalez. “While each of you have a different reason for making that decision, what is common among all of you is your commitment to help others through public service."
