Greenbriar School Drive Benefits the South Suburban Humane Society

CHSD170’s Greenbriar School students recently hosted a donation drive that will significantly benefit the animals at the South Suburban Humane Society (SSHS), making a tangible difference in their lives.

SSHS volunteers and staff members Kathleen Pazanin and Stephanie Troiani-Wendt (visited the school to collect the donations and brought along dogs Peanut and Sheila to meet the children.

“We are honored to conduct this drive each year to benefit the South Suburban Humane Society,” said Greenbriar Principal Joe Taylor.

“Events of this type provide a valuable learning experience for our students that goes beyond the classroom; it teaches the importance of supporting an essential agency of our community.”

“We enjoyed the visit and look forward to this event every year to help our children understand the importance of giving back to the community in a selfless and generous way, said third-grade teacher Ellen Wise, who organized the event.

“Students, staff, and Greenbriar families worked hard for over a month and a half collecting donations for the SSHS,” said Greenbriar staff member Toni Griffith.

“The students made posters to express the need for help in our community. The love of animals and desire to help our furry friends was truly evident with the amount of donations we received.”

“To see families working together to give back to our community during this time of giving, warmed our hearts,” Griffith concluded.

The South Suburban Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the well-being of pets and serving the people who love them in the southern metropolitan Chicago region, a mission that Greenbriar School is proud to support.

Los estudiantes de la Escuela Greenbriar de CHSD170 organizaron recientemente una campaña de donación que beneficiará significativamente a los animales de la Sociedad Protectora de Animales Suburbana del Sur (SSHS), marcando una diferencia tangible en sus vidas.

Los voluntarios y miembros del personal de SSHS, Kathleen Pazanin y Stephanie Troiani-Wendt, visitaron la escuela para recolectar las donaciones y trajeron a los perros Peanut y Sheila para conocer a los niños.

"Nos sentimos honrados de llevar a cabo esta campaña cada año en beneficio de la Sociedad Protectora de Animales de los Suburbios del Sur", dijo el director de Greenbriar, Joe Taylor.

"Eventos de este tipo brindan una valiosa experiencia de aprendizaje para nuestros estudiantes que va más allá del aula; Enseña la importancia de apoyar a una agencia esencial de nuestra comunidad".

"Disfrutamos la visita y esperamos con ansias este evento cada año para ayudar a nuestros niños a comprender la importancia de retribuir a la comunidad de una manera desinteresada y generosa", dijo la maestra de tercer grado Ellen Wise, quien organizó el evento.

"Los estudiantes, el personal y las familias de Greenbriar trabajaron arduamente durante más de un mes y medio recolectando donaciones para el SSHS", dijo Toni Griffith, miembro del personal de Greenbriar.

"Los estudiantes hicieron carteles para expresar la necesidad de ayuda en nuestra comunidad. El amor por los animales y el deseo de ayudar a nuestros amigos peludos fue realmente evidente con la cantidad de donaciones que recibimos".

"Ver a las familias trabajando juntas para retribuir a nuestra comunidad durante este tiempo de generosidad, nos alegró el corazón", concluyó Griffith.
