Donna Miller Wins 2nd Congressional District Primary: AP

U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly's bid for Dick Durbin's seat opened her spot up for a contentious 10-candidate Democratic primary.

Donna Miller has been projected as the winner to replace U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly as the Democratic candidate for Illinois' 2nd Congressional District in November's general election, the Associated Press reports.

Kelly’s bid to replace outgoing U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin set the stage for a 10-person race in the March 17 2nd Congressional District Democratic primary.

Kelly held the seat since 2013. Those vying for the Democratic nod included: seeking his political comeback, Jesse Jackson Jr.; Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller, State Sen. Robert Peters, state Sen. Willie Preston; Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Board member Yumeka Brown; Adal Regis, who formerly worked for Kelly; Eric France; attorney Patrick “PJK” Keating; Toni C. Brown and Sidney Moore.
