SAUK VILLAGE, IL — One juvenile has been charged and multiple other offenders remain at large Wednesday after a 73-year-old man's car was stolen at gunpoint Tuesday night in the parking lot of Meijer, 11305 W. Lincoln Highway in Mokena, police said.
The man was loading groceries into his Lincoln MKC SUV just before 11 p.m. Tuesday when he was accosted by the group of men bearing long rifles and handguns who pulled up in an Audi sedan, police said. They demanded the man's car and fled the scene in both vehicles northbound on Wolf Road.
Illinois State Police an hour later spotted the victim's car and chased the suspects to a gas station in Sauk Village, where two suspects jumped out and fled on foot. A police K9 took down a juvenile passenger, who was then charged with obstructing justice and criminal trespass to motor vehicles.
