LaQuon Treadwell Picked by Minnesota Vikings in NFL Draft
The former Crete-Monee High School standout was selected with the 23rd pick in the Draft.

CHICAGO, IL - Laquon Treadwell, a former Crete-Monee High School standout wide receiver, was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft Thursday night. He was picked with the 23rd selection and is headed to the Minnesota Vikings.
Treadwell caught passes for Warriors from 2009-2012, and was an All-American his senior year. When the Vikings picked him Thursday night in Chicago, Treadwell was the third wide receiver off the board.
He comes to the NFL from the University of Mississippi, where he played for three seasons.
In 2015, he caught 82 passes for 1,153 yards and 11 touchdowns. He had a 14-catch game in an October loss at Memphis.
In 2013, he was voted as the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year. On Thursday night, he became the first Ole Miss wide receiver to ever be selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
“We will always celebrate you," Crete-Monee Principal Dr. James Harden told Treadwell at a pre-Draft rally held Monday at the school, as reported by the Chicago Tribune.
While specific terms of Treadwell’s contract with the Vikings remain undetermined, it is expected that he will earn between $7 million and $10 million a year on a guaranteed four-year contract.
