The Lienzo Charro Food Truck Visits Grant School
The truck was but one of the district-wide activities recognizing the efforts of teachers and staff as part of Teacher Appreciation Week
In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Principal Marco Pellillo treated the teachers at CHSD170’s Grant School to a special lunch of rice, beans, and tacos with a variety of meat and toppings from a food truck on Tuesday afternoon, May 7th.
“We have done catered lunches in the past, so I felt that the time was right to try something new,” Pellillo said.
“The food truck, Lienzo Charro, came highly recommended by a friend and fellow educator, and exceeded expectations.”

“The tacos were delicious, and it was very thoughtful of Mr. Pellillo to think to get us a taco truck for Teacher Appreciation Week,” said first-grade Briana Heckler.
“It was nice that Mr. Pellillo thought of something fun for us to do during Teacher Appreciation Week,” agreed fifth-grade teacher Marjorie Doll.
Pellillo appreciated the staff’s approval while noting that it was a small reward in recognition of their commitment and dedication to the students of Grant School.
“Teacher Appreciation Week is a great opportunity to give thanks to our hard-working school staff members,” he said.
“The teachers and staff at Grant School are amongst the best and are constantly embracing new measures to increase student performance. They understand the ever-changing needs of our students and are willing to adapt to their needs.”
