Lincoln-Gavin School, Chick-fil-A Partner to Recognize Students

In a remarkable display of collaboration and motivation, CHSD170’s Lincoln-Gavin Elementary School partnered with Chick-fil-A at the end of the 2022-23 school year to celebrate the academic achievements of its K-5 students.

The school recently set a school-wide goal of completing 1,000 lessons in their personalized digital math and reading paths, and students eagerly worked towards this milestone throughout May.

The i-Ready personalized digital learning paths have become an integral part of the curriculum at Lincoln-Gavin Elementary School. These adaptive programs, designed to cater to individual learning needs, allow students to progress at their own pace while providing valuable feedback and guidance.

Recognizing the importance of acknowledging and celebrating student achievements, the school involved the students in selecting the reward for achieving their goal. After careful consideration and a school-wide vote, Chick-fil-A emerged as the top choice. Students were excited at the prospect of a delicious treat donated by the popular fast-food restaurant, and the partnership quickly came together.

To reach their goal of 1,000 lessons, the students worked diligently, aiming to complete two, three, or four i-Ready assignments per week. Their dedication and commitment to academic growth were clearly evident as they engaged with the digital learning paths, tackling math and reading concepts and improving their skills.

Lincoln-Gavin Principal Safiyah Malvin expressed her pride in the students and their efforts, stating, “I am so impressed with the effort made by students and staff to achieve the school-wide goal!”

The collaboration between the school and Chick-fil-A serves as an inspiration for the students. It highlights the importance of setting goals, working hard, and enjoying the rewards of their efforts. By involving the students in the decision-making process, the school fosters a sense of ownership and empowerment among the student body.

Su dedicación y compromiso con el crecimiento académico fueron claramente evidentes cuando se comprometieron con los caminos de aprendizaje digital, abordaron conceptos de matemáticas y lectura y mejoraron sus habilidades.

La directora de Lincoln-Gavin, Safiyah Malvin, expresó su orgullo por los estudiantes y sus esfuerzos y dijo: "¡Estoy muy impresionada con el esfuerzo realizado por los estudiantes y el personal para lograr la meta de toda la escuela!"
