Police say they also found a hunting knife on a Matteson man pulled over near Route 30 and Woodlawn Avenue.

FORD HEIGHTS, IL – Cook County sheriff's police found two loaded handguns on a man pulled over in Ford Heights. Keith Owens, 24, of Matteston was charged with unlawful use of a weapon after the stop at 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police say Owens was pulled over near Woodlawn Avenue and Route 30 after a check of the car's license plate showed the driver's license was suspended.

A "strong odor of cannabis" was noticed by the officers who made the stop, and a search that followed came up a loaded .380 caliber handgun and loaded 9mm handgun. Hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a hunting knife, two black ski masks and a bag police believe to be cannabis were also found, police said.
