Looking Back: Bloom High School Students of the Month!
The Chicago Heights Rotary Club honored nine Bloom student of the month throughout the 2017-2018 school year.

Every school year, Bloom High School partners with the Chicago Heights Rotary Club, who honors standout sophomores through its Student of the Month program. This year's honorees were high achievers in academics, athletics, school clubs, NJROTC and more. The school is now recognizing the honorees from throughout the 2017-2018 school year.
"We are thrilled to see the Chicago Heights Rotary Club support the district and honor these outstanding and gifted students every month," said Bloom Township High School District 206 Superintendent Lenell Navarre. "Hard work and determination in our youth should never go unrecognized, and it is deeply valuable to us to have such an important community organization encouraging our students."
September: Nathaly Ruiz

Nathaly Ruiz is a member of Scholastic Bowl and Mathletes. She enjoys her Pre-Calculus class the most, and is planning on attending college. She is undecided on her major, however she is considering teaching. She received her award on Thursday September 21 at the Rotary Club meeting.
October: Kori German

Kori German received her award at the October 12 Rotary Club meeting. Kori is in the NJROTC program and enjoys her Pre-Calculus class the most. She is involved in many organizations at Bloom, including Drama Club and the PTO. She is well liked by her teachers. She plans on serving in the US Marine Corps after graduation, and is interested in becoming a Neurologist.
November: Brian Dickerson (Not Pictured)
Brian Dickerson enjoys his College Reading Class and Microsoft Office Suites classes the most. He is a member of the football and track team. He is undecided about what he wants to do after high school but hopes to someday play professional football. Brian is well liked by his teachers. He received his award at the Rotary Club meeting on Thursday November 9.
December: Erica Ayala
Erica is the oldest of four siblings, is an excellent translator for her peers, and plans to attend college after high school. She received her award at the January 25 Rotary Club meeting.
January: Jada Hughes
Jada Hughes plays volleyball, is a member of Key Club and a member of Zeta Phi Beta. She enjoys singing, dancing, and babysitting. Jada plans on attending Rowan University in New Jersey to study osteopathic medicine after high school. She received her award at the January 25 Rotary Club meeting.
February: Kimberly Mora
Kimberly Mora plays soccer for Bloom and plays in a soccer club on the weekend while also working a part-time job. She has had a positive experience as a student and is very happy with her classes and teachers. After high school she plans on attending college to either become a nurse or pursue a career in the field of law enforcement. She received her award at the February 15th Rotary Club meeting.
March: Stephanie Lozano-Sanchez (Not Pictured)
Stephanie Lozano-Sanchez received her award at the March 1 Rotary Club meeting. Stephanie enjoys her Chemistry and Geometry classes the most, and is a member of Latino Club. After high school, she plans on going to college, and is thinking about majoring in Criminal Justice.
April: Raven Swarn
Raven Swarn's favorite class is Choir. She is a member of Bloom's Art Club and does karate on the weekends. Raven plans on attending college and is interested in studying the arts. She received her award at the May 3 Rotary Club meeting.
May: Isaac Sanchez
Isaac Sanchez's favorite class is Algebra. He is a member of Bloom's NJROTC, enjoys volunteering at an animal shelter, and plans on attending college to study computer programming. Isaac received his award at the May 3 Rotary Club meeting.
