Man Charged In Sexual Assault Of Woman In Field Near His Home
The Cook County Sheriff's Office says DNA evidence has connected Larry Shannon to a July sexual assault in Ford Heights.
FORD HEIGHTS, IL — A Ford Heights man was arrested this week on allegations he sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint earlier this year in a field near his home.
The Cook County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that DNA evidence led them to the arrest of 57-year-old Larry Shannon. Shannon faces an aggravated criminal sexual assault charge in connection with an incident reported to have occurred at 3:30 a.m. on July 28.
That's when police say a woman was trying to get into her vehicle in the 1300 block of Park Avenue in Ford Heights as Shannon, who lives on the block, closed the car door on her arm and showed her a handgun.

Shannon has been ordered held without bond.
