Man Killed In 'Ambush' Shooting Identified: Medical Examiner
The shooting happened the night of Dec. 30 in unincorporated Crete Township.
UNINCORPORATED CRETE TOWNSHIP, IL — A man died after being ambushed by gunfire while in his car Friday night, Will County Sheriff's police said.
In what police believe was a targeted shooting, the 25-year-old man was sitting in his car near 263rd and Greenwood when he was "ambushed from behind," with multiple gunshots fired into the back of his vehicle. The car had been stationary before the shots rang out, police said.
The man, later identified as Chaves J. Bradley of Hammond, Indiana, sped away from the scene, crashing into nearby parked cars, police said. Police arriving at the scene at 1100 block of E. 263rd Street just after 9 p.m. found the man dead in his car.

An autopsy was scheduled for Jan. 1. Detectives and crime scene investigators were called to the scene to conduct interviews and to collect evidence.
No arrests have been made. Additional information will be provided when appropriate, police said.
