Manufacturing Day Being Recognized at Prairie State College Oct. 1

The day's activities are free and open to the public.

Prairie State College (PSC) is hosting Manufacturing Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, in the Atrium on the college’s main campus. The morning opens with a job fair from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., community members are welcome to tour the manufacturing labs on campus and experience demonstrations and see products made from manufacturing equipment. From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be various student events where attendees can explore the certificate and degree programs offered by PSC and learn how to start their career. The day’s activities are free and open to the public. The event is being offered in partnership with PSC, South Suburban College, OAI, Bloom Township High School, Bloom Trail High School, the Chicago Southland Economic Development Corporation,the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Centerand the Illinois Network for Advanced Manufacturing, and is made possible by DOL TAACCCT Funds.

Also as part of activities for the day, Illinois Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti will make an 8:30 a.m. presentation at Bloom High School that will include a proclamation made on behalf of Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner.
